On 28 – 29 September, 50 engineering students from Bilkent University went to the city of Yozgat for the “Volunteer Engineers Project”. In the IEEE Bilkent Organized “Vol – E” Event More than 350 high school students participated.

Vol – E project, done in Yozgat for the first time, is a project focused on introducing high school student to the engineering discipline and its vision. Student from different schools like Yozgat Şehitler Fen Lisesi, AYÇ Koleji, Yozgat Lisesi, Bilim Sanat Merkezi, Sorgun Fen Lisesi, all came to participate in Yozgat Şehitler Fen high school’s building.
During the project, students sat through lectures Introducing Bilkent University and life professions. They joined different labs giving them information about Electrical and electronics, computer, mechanical, and industrial engineerings. For two days these students spent time with their University student role models as brothers and sisters. Not only did these students have a close look at engineering from the inside but also took place in fun activities. Students had the chance to have one on one matches with Turkey’s chess champion, watch DIY made Drones flying and RC Cars being driven. Not only that but we also showcased some of Bilkent University’s student’s projects with details. And leaving the best for last, Saturday night ended with a fun IEEE Band concert.
